About Rashmi

ParvatasanaRashmi has been teaching Yoga for over 35 years, out of which 33 years have been in Irvine, California. When you ask her what style of Yoga she teaches, she reponds "I am teaching Yoga". Yoga is "unity" and she believes in having "unity in all teachings of Yoga". Yoga is the way Rashmi lives; she uses it to keep flexible and healthy, to cure injuries or illnesses, and to shape her mental and spiritual outlook on life.

Rashmi works 7 days a week, mornings and evenings, and has never been absent from her work for being sick. At the age of over 70, her health is in perfect condition. She always says: to learn Yoga, you don't have to be young or have beautiful body. You become young and beautiful by doing Yoga.

Rashmi frequently travels back to India for further studies to refine her practice and work towards self-realization.

In Rashmi's class you will receive personal attention in traditional Yoga postures. She uses detailed instruction and encouragement to teach her students the many Yoga positions. Hand outs are provided to continue practice at home. Special sessions focus on breathing exercises, back pain, meditation, eye therapy, body cleansing, etc.

Classes are tailored for both beginning and advanced students. Group lessons are available at community centers in Irvine. Private and small group lessons are available at Rashmi's studio in Irvine.
